Well I am enjoying this weather at the moment, but nothing can be done with the display because work has picked up just a tiny bit and that gives me a ray of hope. I work again Tuesday as well, and I hope even more days this week and the weeks that fallow.

So I hope this weekend I can take down more stuff, if not sooner.

I bought 4 more controllers in the house and some cat5 cables, and some extension cords. I still have 5 controllers to go.

I still have two mini mega trees, 16 mini trees, 7 deer, and deck light, 1 6ft tree, lights in the ash tree, 1 wood cut out, and the Ferris Wheel.

Sounds like a lot, but the hard part is the two mini mega trees.

We have managed to get everything down, including the roof) over the last few days, with the exception of a few lightup candycanes that are frozen into the ground. The weather was pretty nice here and snow melting so we were able to get it done.

Well I managed to bring in many extension cords and all cat5 cable, but there is still many more cords that will need to wait because they are buried under 32 inches of snow and ice.

I shoved snow away and managed to get 5 of the 16 mini trees pulled up.

This year I will try and find an easier way to remove mini trees without using stakes......maybe Aurbo's idea.

Well take down is slow for me this year but it is coming along.

We've got some lone candycanes lining the driveway, frozen into the ground. They are just unwilling to let go and get put away for the season. They do brighten the dull greyness of the snow and fog right now tho. We've been relaxing somewhat, playing with the new LOR and figuring it out. We set up in a spare bedroom with the computer, controller and light strings, so I can have Christmas lights every day if I want to. LOL.... We've also been figuring out different and more ways to do the lights in the yard for the coming season, especially since we will have more lights.

I still have lights up on the house and around the windows (been too cold to try the ladder).

No time to relax, have to sequence for next year!

How's the weather where you are Scott? Couldn't believe it hit 14-15 here. So much for the Olympics!

I am in Vancouver setting up Russia House (Sochi House in The Telus World of Science)last week and this week. I hear that the helicopters are flying the snow in now. Wow is downtown crazy! Very cool looking and what a great opportunity to get and see.

David the day time highs are -7c with lows of -15c at night. A lot better than -30c.

Anyhow by Friday we will be at -4c so that is nice.

Anyhow enjoy the weather and the Olympic excitement. Might not be much of an Olympic without snow.

I took down the last 5 mini trees today, but I still have 7 deer to take down, a wood cutout, lawn states, cords buried under snow, and a few string of lights to remove yet.

Slowly getting done.

Still seems unreal that you're dealing with snow. My daffs and tulips are already more than 1/3 up. My cherry tree has tons of buds on it. When in Vancouver the other day, there was a plum tree already in full bloom! So bizarre! Feels like April in Feb.

Talk about unreal, seems to me flowers growing in February is unreal looking at it from Alberta...........or any other cold place.

These are suppose to be winter months for Canada...........except for ware you live.

Enjoy what you have, while the rest of us freeze.

Well I took more lights down yesterday and some deer, plus the deck hand rail is now back up, and I also took some plastic poles out of the ground.

Next year I plan on a faster take down for all my stuff (hopefully).

There are 4 more deer to take down, and the lights in the ash tree need to come down.

Next year I don't think I will be staking down my extension cords!
Yes it makes it hard for the bad guys to steal but it makes it even harder for me to remove them before the snow melts!

Honey we are digging up the front yard...
Yes I know it looks like hell but at Christmas it will be covered in snow!

If you were a new breed christmas light enthusiast (don't ask me what that means I just made it up) you would run it in underground conduit all over the yard so that you only have to dig the front yard up once...

...Well maybe twice, once you decide that you don't like the way you laid it out the first time ...

...The third time will definitely be that last once you tweak the final display...

Heck, maybe extension cords aren't such a bad idea.

We've still got some stakes stuck in the ground, and still our line up of candycanes, and actually the tethers from the inflatables. Sure makes it easy and nicer weather to put things up early, but it sure hangs onto the stuff when its cold though :-)
