Okay so off season project #2 is now almost complete.

Have you ever thought you had a great idea (to do with Christmas lights of course), spent a lot of time building it only to realize that it really didn't look as good as you thought it would? I have! So this year I made mock up board where I can quickly do the layout on the peg board and then decide it I like it or not.

I want to be able to put it away when it's not in use so I made it out of couple of pieces of peg board that I had in the garage. It is 48" wide and 82" high (so that it will fit in the basement). The stands are from an old Bath fan display that the company I used to work for was throwing out (after 10 years i finally found a use for them). The peg board just hangs on the stands keeping it all together. It also makes it very easy to put together, take apart and store.

I am using short peg hooks at the moment to anchor the lights. I did find that the lights don't want to stay in the holes when I tried to do the star as shown in the picture so I'm on the hunt for some kind of clip to hold them in place better.

Last week my wife so proud of the job I did of getting a bunch of junk out of the basement. This week she took one look at what I built and just rolled her eyes. I think I might be on the couch tonight.

What is it with our wives? I get the same thing, last night she asked me. "Did you place the order for the lights" I said yeah I spent around $1000.00 bucks. Lets just say I have a soar back from the couch. She will forgive me when she see's it in action nest year. :)

Did you notice how stokesy said "When my wife saw them she said, you have to have more then one" in his post. Either he is really lucky or he is not telling the truth. maybe if we took our wives out for a nice dinner and then told them we just spent a bunch of money on lights???

She likes the look, but hastes spending the $$$. I'll admit I did tell her I was only spending a couple hundy on lights. I kind of blew that one, I think I am at $1200.00 for just my order .
But I am not on the couch so I think she forgave me, that and she dropped my Laptop the other day and broke it. She is lucky she is not on the couch.

I think wives have a good sense of what "a couple hundy" really means.. Similar to that "I'll be home in a couple hours". LOL
