Thank you longshadow.
I hope you and your loved ones have a great day too.
My beloved Greyhound was put to rest this past Wednesday and my heart aches for him. I had him for almost 9 years after his retirement from racing. He was 4 years old when I adopted him.
13 years is a good age for Greyhounds, and many do not make it to 11 years.
I miss you my beloved friend.

| Scott, sorry to hear your news. They really are part of the family. My black lab is turning 11 in a few months, so I worry how much it will impact our lives. I hope you and your family take care. |

Our family reminisces of our past dogs and we take comfort in that. Photos are a great thing too.

Photos are a great thing to help preserve some of the memories.
I've actually started bringing my dog to the office with me so she can be more around people during the day. Gotta treat her well. |

This poem was posted for me when my Dog passed on.
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

After owning a Greyhound and knowing something about them, I thought that maybe our house could become a "Foster Home" for Greyhounds.
That way I can be around them without owning one.
I sent out two emails today asking about becoming a "Foster Home".
Now I need to wait for a reply. Maybe in a week I will send out another email if I get no replies on the 1st emails.
Here is to hoping.
